happened this past summer:

June 24 2017: a day to celebrate the medicinal plant of the year : Birch

at 11am, I will give a talk about the therapeutic properties of birch (and its parasite, chaga). The event is in French, but I can take questions in English

Through the day, there will be birch sap tasting and visit of the site where the event is taking place: les jardins du méandre. You can see the greenhouse, garden, orchard and the animals. You will be able to learn more about this educative farm and buy their products (or mine), and learn how to contribute to their goal.

Medicinal plant walk

The one in Ste-Béatrix will probably be bilingual, but I can always answer questions asked in English or provide English names of the plants

  • Day on plants for maternity: August 12th, 2017
    •  A whole day based on maternity, from the beginning of pregnancy till the first challenges of motherhood. You will see how to help this incredible natural process: which plants can heal the most usual symptoms of each trimester, which plants are contraindicated in pregnancy and why it is so. We will also see how best to prepare to the experience of giving birth and which plants can help potential problems in that moment. The birth is only the beginning of motherhood, so we will also see how plants can support this new job of motherhood (and even grand-motherhood). During this day, we will also meet this new plant allies in the garden…
  • Day on  wild medicinal plants and other non-ligneous forest products (PFNL), August 16th, 2017
    • Whole day based on wild forest medicinal plants. Tree, herbs, lichen, mushrooms: forest is full of allies that can help to maintain health or find it back. We just need to learn to know them, identify them and respect them. We will spend the morning studying them, then we will meet them in person to be able to identify them with many criteria (smell and taste are not as accurate in textbook as in nature)
Among potential medicinal plants, we could meet: fir, spruces, poplars, birch, willows, hawthorn, cramp bark, wintergreen, Labrador tea, blueberries, raspberries, goldenthread, eyebright, aralias, St John’s wort, yarrow, coltsfoot, mullein, nettles, cleavers, usnea, chaga, …
  • Conference on men’s health during the festi-herbes , September 3rd, 2017
    • Herbal medicine for everyone, it’s also herbalism for men. We often hear about plants for menopause, but what about andropause, erectile dysfunction or performance anxiety? For men as well, herbal medicine can help. Moreover, did you know that many plants can help prostate health and increase global well-being? A talk not to be missed, whether you come for yourself or a friend…
